Some further information concerning our upcoming conference in Stellenbosch, South Africa, on 11-16 March 2016.
The detailed program will be sent to all members and visitors closer to the date of the conference. We are looking forward to an interesting (and full!) program, with keynote speakers like Father Michael Lapsley, Deborah Mumfoard, Marlene Ringgaard Lorensen, and Allan Boesak. As is our custom, there will be workshops, inter alia on themes like the following: Music and Voice/Music and Preaching; Preaching and Art/Painting; Preaching and Rap/Preaching and Hip Hop; Language and Paradox; a PhD-Café Poster session, etc.
We are also now opening up the call for papers. An abstract of about 300 words, inclusive of the title of the paper, should be sent to the President and/or the International Secretary at the latest by 1 October 2015. The abstracts will be published on the homepage. We envisage papers of about 5,000 words, in order to allow time for discussions, and the complete papers must be sent to the President and the International Secretary at the latest two weeks before the conference. No copies of the papers will be made at or during the conference as such, in view of the peer-review editing process for the publication of the proceedings (Studia Homiletica) after the conference.
We are also in the process of planning some extended tours for those interested after the conference (e.g. to Cape Point, Table Mountain, The Garden Route, etc.). More information concerning this will follow soon.
