Yale Divinity School seeks to make a tenure track appointment in the field of homiletics, to begin July 1, 2016. The rank of the appointment may be assistant or associate professor without tenure. In an ecumenical environment Yale Divinity School prepares students for ordained ministry in diverse Christian churches and for a wide range of professional involvements, including higher education, law, medicine, the arts, management, and public service. The Board of Societas Homiletica announces the death of Rudolf Bohren. He passed into eternity in the age of 90 years on 1st February, 2010. We condole with his wife, Mrs. Bohren, on the death of Rudolf Bohren.
Rudolf Bohren was the founder and friend of Societas Homiletica. He was born in Grindelwald / Switzerland on 22th March, 1920. He studied theology in Bern and Basel as a disciple of Karl Barth and Eduard Thurneysen. After a time of being a pastor in Switzerland he teached as professor at the Universities of Wuppertal, Berlin and Heidelberg. He was one of the most important European Homileticians of the 20th century.
Societas Homiletica will honor the memory of his founder Rudolf Bohren.
